COST: $4M
Hays County is advancing additional planning and design for a new roadway southwest of Dripping Springs. This project is intended to increase capacity, provide a much-needed alternative to US 290, and enhance safety and connectivity as the region continues to grow.

The need for this corridor has been consistently identified in long-range planning efforts, including the Hays County Transportation Plans (2013, 2021); CAMPO 2040, 2045, and 2050 Regional Transportation Plans (2015, 2020, 2025); RM 150 West Character Plan (2017); and Dripping Springs Transportation Plans (2014, 2018, 2021).

Between 2020 to 2022, the County conducted a feasibility study to identify a recommended route and develop preliminary engineering plans (up to 20% design). This process included coordination with property owners, engagement with a Citizens Advisory Panel, and two public meetings.

Hays County is now moving forward with additional planning and design for the roadway based on the recommended route.
