May 20, 2026: Darden Hill Road Community Update
An update on Darden Hill Road was shared on Wednesday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at Twisted X Brewing Company (23455 Ranch to Market Rd 150, Dripping Springs, TX 78620). The County provided information on Darden Hill Road improvements, including project history, the timeline, and next steps.
April 23, 2026: FM 2001 Improvements Open House
Hays County hosted an in-person open house meeting from 4:30 – 7 p.m. on April 23, 2026, at Studio Estates Event Center (6880 Goforth Rd., Kyle, TX 78640) to share project updates and information with the community as plans advance for the FM 2001 Improvements Project. This project includes safety improvements and realignment between I-35 and SH 21. These improvements will help to increase safety and mobility within the growing region.
The open-house format allowed attendees to learn about the project’s goals, background, updates and next steps of the project. Meeting materials, project information, and comment opportunities were made available online from April 23, 2026 through May 6, 2026.
April 14, 2026: Driftwood Historical Conservation Society Meeting Presentation
The Hays County Road Improvements team presented an update about County road projects in the Driftwood and Dripping Springs area with Commissioner Walt Smith. Driftwood Historical Society members and community attendees had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session and sign up for program updates.
August - September 2025
Hays County hosted four open house meetings, one in each County precinct, from August 27 through
September 18, 2025, to inform the community about the Hays County Road Improvements.
Delivering successful transportation projects requires thoughtful planning and ongoing collaboration with community members, property owners, and local partners. Public input plays a vital role in shaping these efforts.
Hays County is committed to transparency and keeping the community informed every step of the way. The County will share updates through email, social media, press releases, and this website, and will host public meetings and stakeholder discussions to provide progress updates, gather feedback, and coordinate outreach.
