Hays County aims to enhance east-west mobility, improve safety, and reduce congestion by advancing plans to extend William Pettus Road. The proposed roadway connection is intended to help manage traffic in one of Central Texas's fastest-growing areas, including San Marcos and Kyle.
The extension of William Pettus Road from FM 110 to SH 21 was identified as a key priority in the CAMPO’s 2019 Western Caldwell County Transportation Study. This effort is being coordinated with Caldwell County’s project to improve William Pettus Road from SH 21 to SH 142.
This project will include design, right-of-way (ROW) acquisition, and utility coordination. Construction is not currently funded.
