WIDENING COST: $1.4M
PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY COST: $3.4M

Hays County is advancing improvements to Sawyer Ranch Road to enhance safety and mobility for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists in a rapidly growing area.

This area has experienced significant growth, including new and expanding residential developments and new schools. The existing roadway includes one lane in each direction with narrow shoulders.

The Sawyer Ranch Road Widening project includes safety and mobility improvements to the roadway and the extension of the existing pedestrian walkway from Meadow Creek Drive to Darden Hill Road. The walkway is intended to provide a safe and accessible facility for all pedestrians, including students.

Design, utility coordination, and construction are funded for the pedestrian walkway. For the proposed roadway widening, only design is currently funded.
